Stephen Gammell

When I was a kid, I read all sorts of books. You know, like Hardy Boys, Choose Your Own Adventure, Goosebumps, and Encyclopedia Brown, but none of them stick out as much as the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series. But it wasn’t even the stories that I remember about them, although as a kid, I remember being slightly terrified by them, but it was the art that really drew me in.

The style is really sketchy, dark, and creepy, and the subjects of the pictures are bizarre and often legitimately unsettling. They are also probably not well suited for a kid’s book.

It was not until later in my life that I found out that the artist of these illustrations was Stephen Gammell. Anyway, whether or not you care for the stories in the books, I still recommend checking these books (and the others he’s done art for, some of which I haven’t read yet) because the art really is fantastic.

Either Firefox is not distinguishing between the two links or you screwed it up.

No, he screwed it up. It’s counting it as two links when it should be one. If you mouse-over it underlines both links as one.
